Interactive Installation with AI (two screens projections) 2024

Quantum Echoes of Humanity, reflects that technology is not neutral, it is not simply a way of transmitting
information at the service of humanity, it is more than that,
technology forms its own being and with it a new technological language.
The artwork arises through an aesthetic/scientific vision and processes images of metadata through the quantum phenomenon and the anthropological collection of the Origins Center inserted in each particle.
These images are presented and processed when interacting with the viewer (mediapipe). Each image is displayed in 30-second intervals on a screen. Here, we trying to investigate consciousness and modes of knowing through quantifiable data.
The project utilizes the StyleGan2 Python library to process a metadata set containing anthropological archives from Southern Africa, generating a unique series of AI-constructed images.
The artwork is dedicated to the conceptual and aesthetic connections between Art and Science and Posthumanism. In its interpretation of posthumanism, there is the understanding that humans and nature are material-discursive products of a techno-scientific network formed by human and non-human actors.
With the understanding that art and technology continue to experience a (rapidly escalating) historical rapprochement, but also with the understanding that our comprehension of art and technology has tended to be constrained by scientific rigour and calculative thinking by one side, or have tended to change to the extreme from the lyrical: the objective of this artwork is to provide a reflective look for artists, humanists, scientists and engineers to consider these developments from the broader perspective it deserves, while maintaining a focus on what should be the emerging core of this topic which is the relationship between art, technology and science: the state of the art in mechatronics and computing today is such that we can now begin to speak comfortably of the machine as artist, and we can begin to hope, too, that an aesthetic sensibility on the part of the machine might help generate an intelligent more friendly and responsive machine agency overall.
Quantum Echoes of Humanity offers a powerful, affective encounter between archival materials and machinic imagination, presenting a bold rethinking of the relationships between humans, machines, and the ecological crisis. Its performative and interactive qualities invite us to engage with the work's recursive, generative nature, challenging our conventional understanding of property, labor, and the self.
